The Reality

Over 50,000 Canadian student-athletes annually - being a college/university athlete in Canada is a unique financial experience.

The absence of full athletic scholarships and resources, in comparison to our NCAA counterparts, forces student-athletes to take on responsibilities such as covering partial tuition costs, obtaining student loans, renting homes, purchasing books, tutors and other essential needs that are a part of the overall Canadian student-athlete experience.

The Problem

While being a college athlete in Canada is a unique financial experience, unfortunately, young athletes are often unaware of the financial responsibilities they will face once they transition into post-secondary athletics.

The absence of awareness stems from a deficiency in conversations that address the financial challenges young athletes are likely to face, thus preventing them from adequately preparing for the future. This deprivation robs them of the opportunity to proactively plan ahead.

The Solution: Tuition Talks

Tuition Talks is an original series, produced by PRSVRE Media Group, featuring Canadian professional athletic stars - who once went to college or university in Canada - sharing their personal financial stories, insights, and advice to normalize discussions of finances for the next generation of student-athletes across Canada.

Through these conversations, Tuition Talks provides some of Canada's top athletes with a platform to open up about their experiences with money and personal finance.
